Renato Zecchino is the manager and owner of Zecchino Fine Art in Barcelona. He was born in November 1970 in Zurich Switzerland as a native Italian.
He studied art, economy and had a Master’s Degree in Architecture. His interest and passion for art came about when he was a child. His grandmother used to work for the well-known Meissner Art gallery in Zurich and influenced Zecchino’s view on art during many years.
The first time he moved out of the home was when he was 17 years old. He used to live in the same building with the art trader family Peyer from Zurich, Switzerland. During a period of several years, he was running a workshop for sculptures, painting, graphic design and furniture design with Peyer Jr. In the same period, they painted large murals in and out Switzerland. this is where the knowledge and passion for street art came from.
During his studies as an architect, he had the great honor and pleasure to work with outstanding architects and historians like Oscar Niemeyer, Mario Botta, Harald Szeemann, Jacques Gubler, Francesco Dal Co, Carlo Bertelli and Kenneth Frampton, just to mention a few.
During the year of 2014, Zecchino decided to settle down in Barcelona and become a resident in one of the most beautiful cities in the world.
During this period, Zecchino is in touch with more than 30 artists mainly working in the street art sector. Zecchino’s art collection reflects an important part of Barcelona’s street art history influenced by artists from all over the world.
